Arman Molavi
Arman has been a professional photographer for over thirty years. During this time, he has done everything from teaching photography in Toulouse to being a fashion photographer in New York. A graduate of the ETPA, he has often worked in corporate and fine art photography and exhibited in prestigious locations such as the Galerie municipale du Château d’Eau and Le Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris. Recently he showed his work in a group exhibition at the Paris based gallery Nicolas Flamel and a solo exhibition at the Seyhoun Art Gallery in Tehran. Although Arman has a considerable experience in portraiture and reportage photography in France and around the world, he is perhaps best known for his innovative and artistic style. Arman lives and works in Paris.
"Surreal Botanics: Colors of the Inner World"
Arman’s photography merges the realms of the real and the surreal, offering a deeply subjective vision of the botanical world that transcends traditional representation. Like a Renaissance master painter, he uses dark, rich backgrounds to spotlight sensual flowers, anatomically shaped leaves, and Japanese trees. These elements, steeped in vibrant and uniquely balanced colors, come alive on the canvas, evoking emotions through vivid reds, yellows, greens, and blues. His use of negatives and contemporary botanical illustrations challenges our perceptions, creating a striking nterplay between nature’s essence and human emotion. At the core of his work lies an expressionist intent: to distort reality and elicit a profound emotional response. Through fiery hues and the use of delicate light, Arman conveys not just the beauty of the natural world but also an exploration of the human soul. His photographs, blending expressionism, impressionism, and modern techniques, invite viewers to experience an imaginary world, where emotion and sensation meet, revealing hidden aspects of nature often overlooked. These images exist beyond their medium, inviting us into an intimate, magical landscape. They broaden our horizons and expand our perceptions of beauty, unveiling a personal and subjective connection with the forces of nature and the universe. Whether presented as single shots or in groups, Arman’s photographs move us toward an expanded sense of wonder, challenging the limits of our own perception.
